*PREORDER* I Am the Lord's: A Lectio Divina Journal for Kids

*PREORDER* I Am the Lord's: A Lectio Divina Journal for Kids

*This is a PREORDER and will arrive the last week of May*"I Am the Lord's" is an easy-to-use tool to grow in your child(ren) a habit and love for praying with Scripture.  The chaos of the world, the flesh, and the devil clamors to lie to tell our child(ren) who they are. Conversely, in the silence of intimate prayer, God waits to remind our child(ren) of who they truly are in Him. “I am the Lord’s.” (Isaiah 44:5) Our best selling lectio divina journal for kids, A Light & A Lamp, was so popular, we've created a second edition to guide your child(ren) on a path of conversation with God about WHO they truly are in His eyes. This simple truth is woven throughout Sacred Scripture, where God reveals who He is and who we are as His children. Lectio divina is an ancient practice rooted in the early Church. The purpose is to pray with Scripture, allowing the Lord to speak to us through His Word. As Saint Jerome reminds us, “When we read Scripture, God speaks to us.” This is the method employed by saints throughout the history of the Church! We made this lectio divina journal for kids ages 8-18. Each spread walks the child through the four movements of lectio divina: Lectio (Reading) Meditatio (Meditation) Oratio (Prayer) Contemplatio (Contemplation) With intentional, repetitive prompting questions, the child will build the habit of prayerful reflection on the Word of God and begin to recognize His voice in their life.. What to Expect: We provide 40 carefully-selected Scripture passages for them that engage the imagination and lend themselves well to this prayer. Then, we leave them 20 blank pages for them to select their own Scripture passage with which to pray!  The journal is meant for boys and girls. It has a vegan leather cover, thick interior pages that stand up to pens and highlighters, and a satin gold ribbon for place holding. It is the perfect meaningful Christmas, birthday, Easter basket, or Confirmation gift!   Want one for yourself, too?! Check out our bundle with the women's journal!

Bonding through Books and Beauty - Into the Deep

Bonding through Books and Beauty

One of the most delightful seasons of parenting is when our children gather around us with a teetering stack of picture books, ready to read together.  Picture books stretch far beyond entertainment. As educator Charlotte Mason taught, "living books" illustrated and written toward the True, the Good, and the Beautiful leave a lasting impression. They help shape our children's imagination, support the development of their linguistic ability, and introduce them to heroism through acts of virtue.  When parents and children spend time reading beautiful books together, connection just happens. Reading time is a wonderful place to get to know each other at a deeper level. Here we learn together, we get a closer look to our little one's hearts, and we enter the perfect atmosphere for questions about life, family and faith.  One of my favorite memories is when we read "Little Women" and my kids (benevolently) poked fun at me because I cried my heart out through it all. (Of course, it's now a family inside joke!) Reading inspiring stories together as a family also contributes to point our hearts and minds to God. It helps our children to discover the truth of his love and goodness in every new story they enjoy. With this lens, we set out to assemble a mega-list of magnificent Catholic picture books. We are blessed to live in a time with rich and worthy Catholic titles, and this list offers both classics and new favorites.  We’ve categorized the list to help you navigate it according to your needs. Each book is linked to Amazon, but we recommend checking your library or local Catholic bookstore first. We hope this list brings your family together around the Faith, builds beautiful memories, and helps shape an ideal of sanctity in the minds of your precious children.
