May I introduce you to…

A Tradition Since the Early Years

Homemade pretzels have been a part of the Catholic Lenten tradition since the earlier years of the Church!

Since Catholics used to abstain from any meat, dairy, or eggs throughout the entirety of Lent, the faithful came up with this recipe consisting of a simple dough.

The dough was rolled out and its "arms" crossed like the shape of Christ's cross.

Homemade pretzels are actually quite straightforward and are a blast for kids to make. This recipe from the I Heart Naptime Recipe Blog is super simple and delicious!

The Most Sacred Week of the Year

Holy Week is the richest, most sacred week of the liturgical calendar. Did you know that we made a sacred art study that walks your whole family through the major moments of Holy Week—Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday—with the help of sacred art?

Moms and families loved it last year!

“The Picture Study made our Holy Week incredibly special. I felt like my older kids (5.5 and 4) were actually able to 'see' the timeline of events.” —Dominica M | verified customer

Our parent guide makes this easy on you! All you need to do is pull out the image and read the guide word-for-word to generate "spirit-filled discussions" (Cullen's word's below) with your kids.

"This study has brought the reverence and spirit-filled discussions to our family that my soul longs for during Holy Week but that I am not usually prepared to facilitate. It truly is open and go!" —Cullen S. | verified customer

This study is flexible. 23 works of art are included if you'd like to study several images a day or you can simply do one a day if that's what works for your schedule and family.

“Our favorite addition to our Lenten line-up! This was a beautiful, rich study that was so well laid out and greatly enjoyed by all!” —Rebecca T | verified customer

Being new to Into the Deep this year, I cannot wait to try the Holy Week Picture Study with my kids this year!

Comment below and let me know if you’re going to give it a try too! We’d be happy to answer any questions you have, also.

Prayers for you and your family to have a blessed Lent!
