"...the parables constitute the heart of Jesus' preaching." -Pope Benedict XVI
The parables are stories told straight from the Teacher Himself. The parables teach us about the Kingdom of God and His Heart for the world.
These are the stories our kids need to know.
The parables have been so valuable in Christian tradition that there are plentiful artworks depicting them.
We've chosen 12 of the best for this one-of-a-kind study.
This picture study includes:
12 high-quality, UV-coated 8.5x11 prints of sacred art of each parable
A parent booklet explaining the importance of picture studies and how to do one with your children
A sturdy folder in which to preserve the study so you can use it again and again
An open-and-go catechesis for each parable, teaching truths about God and His Church from the painting itself.
Discussion questions to help the child engage with the painting.
Spend just 15 minutes with each painting to give your child a comprehensive experience of the parables that will not only expand their minds but also their hearts.

So beautifully done! The pictures themselves are large and clear. The book shares exactly what to aay and discuss as well as a Bible reading about the specific parable. We love doing this with some tea and cookie!
We’re doing the Summer of Parables Challenge and I ordered the Parables picture study to go with it. It’s a beautifully well written study and my children and I are enjoying it. As a homeschool parent, I’ve been looking for family-style resources we can use to grow in our faith together and this hits the mark.

This is the perfect study for any family with children in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. I level two children are positively loving it. This study brings to life many of the parables that my children are already meditating upon, pondering, and allowing to be written on their hearts. The artwork choices are beautiful and draw you in. This is a worthwhile investment!

I love sacred art and how it speaks to us without words especially if we are in tune with the Word of God.
This approach helps me and my children go deeper, maybe contemplating (I call it ‘thinking’ for the kids) on the message God is sending through the artist’s interpretation?
We also learn art in a secular way the artist’s imagination and why s/he is famous.

What a lovely, rich resource! I wasn't sure what my 13 years old daughter would think, but she really enjoys the Parable Picture Study, as do I. The Parables Picture Study has been so life-giving. It has been a great tool for keeping learning alive during the summer months. There has been something for everyone, including my 7,5, and 3 year old- even myself! It’s been a joy to hear my kiddos insight and knowledge and to read from the Gospel together in this focused way.

Today we used the picture study while having lunch. The whole family observed the picture and discussed what we thought it symbolizes. Then played an audio clip of the Bible verses preferenced within the booklet that accompanies these picture cards. It was a fantastic way to implement this picture study as a family. I cannot stress how nice she clear the images are and handy the booklet is that has the guided lessons.

Into the Deep has changed our family. It’s changed the way I homeschool. It has given me a new excitement and love for the Faith. It is so beautiful and fun to work with - we all love it. We’re all learning from it. Can’t recommend it enough.
We love Into the Deep Catechesis books and materials and The Parables of Jesus was a great addition. The selected paintings are beautiful and they invite us to reflect and grow in closeness with Jesus and the catechetical/artistic explanation of each one of the paintings is wonderful. A great tool to journey together in faith as a family!
